ABOUT AMY: Who is Amy?
Amy Binder jumped off the corporate ladder
in 2000 and started AMY INK to provide “Fresh
Thinking, Effective Writing” to business clients around the world.
She now leverages the
expertise gained over 20 years in corporate
communications--including
VP spots at two global companies--with the
changing rules of today’s social media. The common thread in all
her work: communicating key messages in a clear,
interesting, and effective manner.
She spent most of her career in the
Philadelphia area, where she managed internal and
external communications functions at
Hercules Incorporated, ARCO Chemical (now Lyondell Chemical),
Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), and Marketpac
International, a subsidiary of American International Group.
During her seven years with Hercules, first as director and
then as vice president of
corporate communications, she was the speechwriter for the chairman and
senior executives, annual report editor, company spokesperson, and communications advisor
to internal departments and the company's Internet/intranet Web sites.
Her work has earned recognition from annual-report expert Sid
Cato, the International Association of Business Communicators, the International ARC
Awards, Speechwriter's Newsletter, and The Executive Speaker.
She spoke at
Sid Cato's last International
Annual Report Conference, San Antonio '04, on
"Finding Your Voice: Creating a distinctive personality...on paper."
Originally from Red Bank, NJ, Amy received a
bachelor's degree in
communications from Glassboro State (now Rowan University), NJ, and a
master's degree in educational media from
Temple University in Philadelphia.
